From Day Dreaming to Small Business

From Day Dreaming to Small Business

Growing up in Los Angeles as an Asian-American child of first-generation immigrants, I was raised by two incredible women—my mom and grandmother—who taught me the value of resilience and hard work. I earned an engineering degree and followed that path for a while, but deep down, my heart wasn’t in it. My true passion had always been in creating—with my hands, my heart, and my imagination. As I learned more about matcha culture and its rituals, I felt a deep connection to the balance it represents: blending precision with beauty, discipline with artistry. That balance inspired me to step away from expectations and embrace my dream of becoming a potter and matcha enthusiast. Today, I combine these loves to create pottery that celebrates the mindfulness and joy of matcha culture—infused with the spirit of my journey and the lessons of the strong women who shaped me.

I am so grateful for the support I have. With all the ups and downs from losing my patience doing pottery and self doubt, I persevered and pushed forward. Even through my family not believing in me and laughing in my face, all the discouraging comments, I am doing what I love and its been the best decision I've made.
